Legendary Highlife musician, Julius Kojo Antwi alias the ‘music man’ has stated that he his main focus in his music career is not to win an award.

According to him, he does music because it is a God-given talent and not because he wants to win an award or a grammy.

Speaking in an interview with Abeiku Santana on UTV monitored by 1Family Radio, the music man noted that anytime God blesses him with a song, he will share it with the world.

“I hope Ghanaians don’t misjudge me. Awards don’t move me because I don’t play my music to win an award.’’

He furthered, “God has given me this gift and if he blesses me with a new song, I will share it with the world. This is what I aim at.’’

The celebrated music legend hinted that his main focus is not to win an award but for his songs to live forever even after he is gone.

He reiterated that grammys and awards don’t really motivate him although it is a nice experience if you win an award.

“It is nice and amazing to win a grammy and see others also win but as an artiste, it is not really my thing.’’

Kojo Antwi added that he had witnessed some Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes win an award and though he doesn’t yearn to win one, he is always happy when he see other prospering in what they do.
