Ghanaian author and CEO of Mylisa Entertainment, Princess Agyapong, popularly known as Mylisa, has called on Ghanaian society to accord men the respect they deserve.
She contends that the society in which we live gives women an advantage over men and that some women have used this advantage to abuse the rights of men.
In an interview that 1Family Radio monitored, Mylisa said that it is past time for society to uphold men’s rights and give them a fair hearing when there is a problem.
She claims that because men are compelled to suppress their feelings, the rate at which they mistreat and murder women in the nation has increased.
“Manhood must be honored because the emotions of men matter. Because they are dying alone, men are killing themselves and “murdering” women every day.’’
“Are we fighting for women’s rights to denigrate and diminish men? Or we are battling for women’s rights to advance society?’’ she quizzed.
“Since women are perceived as being weak, society always jumps to defend them when there is a conflict between men and women.’’
She said, “A lot of women are using this to attack and accuse men falsely.”
“A grown woman will have consensual intercourse with a grown man, and the male will be chastised for getting the woman pregnant. Women have enormous control over whether to carry a pregnancy or not, but nobody holds them accountable for negligence.
“How is it possible for a man without a job to have a child? Why is the woman not attacked for engaging in unprotected sex with a jobless man? Speaking by a woman is healing, but when a man speaks, it is immaturity,’’ she added.
“Because these men are literally our fathers, husbands, and brothers, they deserve more respect than women do. Men must have the same ability to express themselves as women do without fear of rebuke,’’ she insisted.
