The Member of Parliament for Afiduase Asokore on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Kwame Ayew Afriyie, has bashed Alan Kyerematen, a flagbearer hopeful of the party, over his campaign slogan.

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen claims to have been an ardent supporter of the NPP party for a very long time and that the time is now for him to serve as the party’s flagbearer. As a result, his campaign anthem is “Aduru me so,” which means “it is my turn.”

Dr. Kwame Ayew Afriyie holds a different view, contrary to that of the former Minister of Trade and Industry. He claims that Alan wasn’t bold enough to be a principal witness for the party in their 2012 election petition.

“When the NPP needed someone to go to court and speak on behalf of the party, nobody shouted ‘aduru me so’ or ‘me baa y3 aky3,” implying ‘I’ve been in the queue for long’, he noted during a phone interview on Wontumi TV monitored by 1Family Radio.

Kwame proceeded by saying that the reason so many delegates are supporting the present vice president is because he was the only one who had the ability to challenge the lawyers of the NDC.

“By adamantly stating that “you and I were not there,” Dr. Bawumia matched the NDC lawyers as stated in the pink sheets.

According to him, Alan Kyerematen has no right to claim that it is his turn to lead the party because, when the party needed a star witness, he was nowhere to be found.
