Former Mayor of Kumasi and a flagbearer hopeful of the NDC, Kojo Bonsu has called on fellow aspirant to withdraw his lawsuit against the party.

After voicing his concerns regarding the register, Dr. Duffuor obtained an injunction against the primaries on Tuesday, May 9. The primaries were initially set to take place on Saturday, May 13.

He claimed there were abnormalities with the register after receiving just 220 of the 228 hard drives he had requested.

Reacting to this, Kojo Bonsu has urged all the presidential aspirants to support calls for cooperation and a peaceful solution to the current standoff over the primaries.

In a statement by the former mayor sighted by 1Family Radio, Bonsu expressed optimism that the problems can be solved internally and also in unity.

He stated that in order to address the issues and assist the election directorate in conducting free, fair, and transparent Presidential/Parliamentary primaries, the national executives must continue to consult with all parties. He also urged Dr. Duffuor to consider the NDC’s interests.

“I urge Dr. Duffuor to exercise patience and consider the interest of the party as a whole because I know he means no harm or trouble but rather expects the right things to be done for a smooth election that is free of any barriers so that everyone can have a level playing field,” he said.
