Lawmaker for the North Tongu Constituency has reacted to the dismissal of the contempt case by the court on.

On Friday, February 3, 2023, the lawmaker on his way to parliament after an interview on Accra-based Metro TV was served with a writ filed by Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng.

The writ served him restrained him from making further public publications of Rev. Boateng’s properties and pronouncements on his case of dual identity and conflict of interests.

Mr. Ablakwa kicked the writ on the floor at the forecourt of Metro TV and tweeted that he cannot be cowed into submission by imprisonment. In reaction to this, the man of God filed a contempt case against the lawmaker in which he requested the court to arrest Ablakwa for his conduct.

However, the case was dismissed by the Accra High Court on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 on the bases that the evidence provided by the plaintiff is fraught with inconsistencies and doubts.

Speaking to the press after the ruling, the lawmaker noted that he is more determined to reveal more rotten secrets to the public to serve in the interest of the country.

“It gives us the vigor, the impetus, it gives us the drive, zeal and inspiration to keep doing the right thing in the interest of the nation,’’ he told the journalist monitored by 1Family Radio.

According to him, the failed attempt to stop the truth by the plaintiff has made him more focused on because as at now nothing can prevent him from revealing more secrets.

“Nothing is going to stop us now. We will not be distracted by all these shenanigans and the abuse of the judicial process,’’ Ablakwa said.
