Abraham Amaliba, the Director of Legal Affairs Directorate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has petitioned for the arrest of Bryan Acheampong over a statement he made over the weekend.
In petition filed by Abraham on behalf of the NDC which was sighted by 1Family Radio, the party called for the arrest, investigation and prosecution of the Abetifi lawmaker, Bryan Acheampong who also doubles as the Minister for Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs.
According to the statement, on Saturday, 8th of April, 2023, Bryan was heard stating that “the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will never hand over power to the NDC on any platform. He furthered that the NPP will show the NDC that they have the men, and that the NPP will do everything possible be it fair or foul to remain in power come what in the 2024 general elections.’’
Mr. Amaliba furthered that the statement by the lawmaker is serous and it must not go unpunished lest it becomes a harbinger of civil unrest.
