Three Immigration officers have been reported shot Bawku in the Upper East Region with one of them dying at the spot.
News reaching us (1Family Radio) the departed officer has been identified as Philip Motey and the other two injured officers are Eric Ayibiya and Lawrence Afri.
The other two officers were rushed to the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital for medical treatment after they were attacked and shot by unknown gunmen on the night of Monday, 3rd April, 2023.
Although the actual reason for the attack is yet to be discovered, it is alleged that this attack is connected to the tribal conflicts in the area.
Some civilians are reported to have been intimidated by these anonymous gunmen. The military are currently in the town in order to find these gunmen.
