Solomon Owusu, a member of the communication team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has alleged that the president is to blame for the party’s defeat in the just-ended by-election in Assin North.

He said that President Akufo-Addo shouldn’t be permitted to speak at any future party rallies.

Speaking in an interview on Happy FM, monitored by 1Family Radio, the NPP communicator noted that the president’s term in office is over and it’s time for him to step aside on matters pertaining to campaigns and rallies.

“President Akufo-Addo should not be allowed to speak at any NPP rally under any circumstance. He has completed his work,’’ he said.

“He is the same person that campaigned in Odododiodio and mentioned Nii Lante Vanderpuye instead of Bannerman. That was one of the contributing elements that caused the NPP to lose in that constituency,’’ Solomon noted.

Given this, he urged the NPP General Secretary to prohibit the president from appearing at any of the party’s rallies if they truly intend on breaking the 8.

‘’So here’s a crucial piece of advice for our General Secretary, who has said that he is open to suggestions, he remarked. ’’

“As part of a reinforced strategy, Akufo-Addo has completed every campaign activity he needed to complete, and now under no circumstances should he be permitted to speak at any rally.”

Solomon continued, “President Akufo-Addo’s national rating is dying, and goodwill is literally dying.”
