Social media has been trailing criticisms of a popular Nigerian YouTuber who betrayed his country and other African countries in an interview he granted in the United Kingdom (UK).

The YouTuber, who has been identified as Emdee Tiamiyu, has alleged that most Nigerian students apply for a student visa in order to get the chance to enjoy greener pastures in the UK.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the BBC, monitored by 1Family Radio, the YouTuber noted that most of these students don’t necessarily need the degree they apply for; they are just looking for ways and means to travel into the country.

“It is not really about the degrees; I mean, it’s not like they need the degree. They just need the degree as an access route into the UK. So, for a lot of these people, their main priority shifted very fast,’’ he said.

According to him, the main motive behind the student visa application is just to travel into the country, not particularly to learn or acquire a degree.

“So it’s really about getting into the UK. It’s not really about education,’’ Emdee added.

Most netizens have bashed him for making such allegations, which have the potential to ruin the chances of students who really need the UK visa to further their education.
