Nana Kwame Mensah-Bonsu, the Otumfuo Ahenenanom Hene, has descended heavily on the two major political parties in the country.
He bashed both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for failing to bring about any developmental projects in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking in an interview on ‘For The Records’ program monitored by 1Family Radio, the sub chief stated that despite the claim that the Ashanti Region is the stronghold of NPP, the NDC has carried out more projects in the region than the NPP.
“I am here to fight for Ashanti. Akufo-Addo should come and highlight all the development initiatives he has brought to the Ashanti Region, and Mahama should do the same,’’ he said.
“I kindly request the NDC and call the NPP to come and account for what they have done in the Ashanti Region. None of us is naive. In the event that we were previously blind, we can now see that it has rained and the ground is wet,’’ he added.
Otumfuo Ahenenanom Hene pleaded with each and every chief in the Ashanti Region to vote wisely for their own benefits.
