The administrators of the church which collapsed in Old Bortianor in the Ga South Municipality of Accra has stated that they did not notice anything peculiar about the building.

They claim that when they went to church on Sunday, they never spotted any placards with cracks in them.

On May 9, 2023, a three-storey structure belonging to the Word In Action Church collapsed, injuring seven construction workers.

According to an eyewitness, the injured individuals, who were working on an extension project for the auditorium, heard a strange noise, but as they tried to flee, the building fell.

One of the Word In Action Church’s administrators, Matilda Asamoah, voiced her dismay at the circumstances in an interview with Citi News monitored by 1Family Radio.

“This is a tremendous surprise because, well, look at the building, there was nothing that suggested that it may fall. We are all shocked by what has transpired because there was no warning,’’ she said.

She expressed her profound gratitude to God because no one was severely injured and no life was lost.

“We bless God that no was harmed and that there were no casualties. We are astonished, but we give thanks to God that no one was hurt. We praise him for providing for us and rescuing us from this agony,’’ she added.
