It is believed by some section of Ghanaians that the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), late Jerry John Rawlings might have taken his party alongside with him to his grave.

Bernard Allotey Jacobs, the former Central Region Chairman of the NDC also holds this same opinion. According to him, the party is gradually becoming like the CPP.

His reaction follows the outcome of the voting held in parliament on the 24th of March, 2023, on the approval of the ministerial nominees of the president.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM with Kwame Sefa monitored by 1Family Radio, the politician stated that the current lawmakers and executives of the NDC doesn’t know the formation of the party and because of this they are able to do whatever they please.

“These young men don’t even know how the formation of the NDC came about. Today some young people have joined the NDC and when you take a look at them, listen to their utterances, you would ask yourself if the NDC is not heading towards destruction like the CPP,’’ he noted.

Mr. Allotey indicated that he is inclined to believe that the NDC party died with its founder.

“Today, the founder of the NDC, Rawlings is dead and I am tempted to believe that he took the NDC party with him to the grave just like Nkrumah died with his CPP,’’ he said.
