Alfred Kwame Agbesi, the former Member of Parliament for Ashaiman on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged the military to go to Ukraine if they want to wage war.
According to him, since the New Patriotic Party (NPP) believes that ‘The Battle is the Lord’s’, the people of Ashaiman also believe that the lord will fight for them because they are under his protection and shield.
Speaking at a press conference on March 9,2023 monitored by 1Family Radio, the former lawmaker asserted that the president came into power with the slogan ‘The Battle is still the Lord’s’ but what has happened in Ashaiman is very disheartening.
He furthered that Ashaiman is not at war nor is it a battle ground therefore anyone that wants to fight should go to Ukraine. “Ashaiman is not a battle ground, in fact the battle ground is at Ukraine, whoever wants to wage war should go to Ukraine,’’ he cautioned.
Mr. Alfred noted that the good Lord will protect them against the military and their attacks. “You have come here to wage war on us with armoured cars and helicopters but all we have to say is that this battle is the Lord’s and he will protect us,’’ he stated.
Quoting from Psalms 144, he noted that the Lord will deliver the people of Ashaiman because He is their shield and fortress.
“Because Ken Ofori-Atta and the president like quoting the bible, I am also quoting the bible to tell them that Ashaiman is not Ukraine therefore they shouldn’t wage war on us because the Lord will protect us,’’ he concluded.
