Chris Hugton, the former Newcastle United manager has been appointed by the GFA as the new coach for the Black Stars.

Henry Asante Twum, the communications director in an earlier interview on Akoma FM had indicated that there was an ongoing discussion between the GFA and the sports ministry to appoint a new coach. He also urged Ghanaians to expect the appointment very soon.

The GFA has announced that Chris Hughton has been appointed by the body to serve as the new coach of the Black Stars after extensive deliberations between the GFA and Chris. Chris Hugton was the technical advisor for the Black Stars during the Qatar 2022.

The body stated that the appointment was in agreement with the vision of the GFA to continue building an undefeatable squad which began with the former coach, Otto Addo.

After the discouraging performance of the Black Stars in the World Cup 2022, Chris Hughton seeks to build a formidable team and also attaining new heights with the Black Stars.
