Joshua Buernortey Boye-Doe, a Ghanaian social m the campai edia influencer and the mastermind behind the “FixTheCountry” campaign has hinted that the campaign was not initiated because of politics.

The campaign which began in 2021 requested accountability, improvement of the standard of living and good policies from the government. Many Ghanaian celebrities and members of the opposition party joined this campaign to admonish the government to fix the problems in the country.

Some Ghanaians alleged that Kaly Jay was offered money by the opposition party to initiate this campaign.

Speaking in an interview with Delay monitored by 1Family Radio, Kaly Jay debunk the allegation that he was paid to start the campaign in order to trouble the government.  He added that he began the campaign with a good intention.

He indicated that he began this campaign when he realized that he was earning income on social media and most of his friends who are far intelligent than he was didn’t have jobs and were depending on him.

Kaly jay continued that he used to feed some of his friends and also paid the school fees for some of them. But as a human, he got fed up and it was obvious that if the system is operating, he won’t be burdened with such things.

Kaly explained that he began the “FixTheCountry” campaign to create awareness of the problems the youth were facing and to call on the government to put systems in place to curb these problems.

He asserted that he was popular on Twitter and therefore decided to raise funds for the les privilege using the platform. He emphasized that he was paid a single pesewa to begin this agenda.

Kaly Jay furthered that he didn’t join the protest in August because the motive behind his campaign was twisted due to politics.

He also noted that he began something which was bigger than him and he had to stop.
