Assin North Lawmaker James Gyakye Quayson’s application to stay proceedings has been thrown out by an Accra High Court on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.

This came about after the MP’s attorneys asked the Supreme Court to halt the High Court from hearing his case until the Court of Appeal had decided the appeal.

The news reaching us here at 1Family Radio is that the decision by the court suggests that the trial will proceed with the prosecution’s first witness testifying.

Despite many legal actions filed at the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, the court resolved that nothing would prevent it from moving on with the case.
