CEO of the Atta-Mills Institute and former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has disclosed that he was sacked from the presidency 48 hours after the death of former President John Atta-Mills.
He claimed that John Dramani asked him to vacate the presidency because he couldn’t work with him for obvious reasons.
Speaking in an interview on Atinka TV, monitored by 1Family Radio, Koku noted that he was asked to choose three state institutions so that he could be made the CEO or deputy CEO because he could no longer work at the presidency.
Koku also added that he was told this news via a phone call he received two days after the demise of the late John Evans Atta-Mills.
“Professor died on July 24, 2012, and on July 26 in the morning around 6 a.m., which is less than 48 hours, I got a call from one of these guys, and the person asked how I was faring. Although I replied that I was fine, I didn’t trust the call. I have the gift of discernment; therefore, I knew the call wasn’t genuine.’’
He continued that five minutes after the first caller, he received another call, and the caller disclosed the decision of John Mahama to expel him from the presidency.
“So, five minutes after the first call, another person called, and he was like, during the meeting yesterday, which was July 25, it was decided that he must leave the presidency because the new president (John Mahama) claims that he can’t work with me for obvious reasons, so I should get ready and pack out of the presidency,’’ he disclosed.
“I was told to go and look for three or four state institutions so that I will be considered either CEO or deputy CEO because I am out of the presidency,’’ Koku stated.
Koku furthered that a few days after the phone call, he visited a very eminent member of the NDC party, who advised him to start looking for a new job because the newly appointed president had expelled him from the presidency.
“This man mentioned the name of the president, saying that he has said he couldn’t work with me so i have to leave and go and look for something else to do.”
“I must admit, I was pretty astonished because I didn’t expect this from him. So, when I left his house and didn’t commit suicide, it proved that it is not in my DNA to do so,” he added
He also expressed disappointment about the kind of treatment meted out to him by some of these guys; he refused to disclose their identities because he would do that in his new book.
