The former Auditor-General, Daniel Yaw Domelevo, has expressed his satisfaction with the ruling by the Supreme Court.

On Wednesday, May 31, 20233, the Supreme court ruled that the directive by the President Akuffo-Addo that Domelevo should go on an accumulated leave ahead of his retirement was unconstitutional and null and void.

Speaking in an interview on Citi FM after the court ruling, the former Auditor-General disclosed that he will not take any further legal action against the president because he has been vindicated by the court.

“Many people have suggested that I take further action against the president, but I jokingly tell them that why would I take redress to get compensation from the taxpayers who did nothing to me?’’

“The president doesn’t pay tax, so I’m not interested in taking any further action,’’ he stated during the interview monitored by 1Family Radio.

“It’s a position and not a possession, so I have moved on. I think the most important thing here is the verdict by the court,’’ he replied when asked about his ouster.

According to him, the verdict of the court will prevent any similar illicit act from happening to his successors.
