Veteran singer Ofori Amponsah, professionally known as All4Real, has expressed disappointment at how Ghanaians tend to celebrate the dead more than the living.

The singer, who was a guest on Onua Showtime with McBrown, shed light on the importance of honoring individuals while they are still alive rather than waiting until they are gone.

According to him, he doesn’t attend funerals because he believes that people should be celebrated during their lifetime and not after they depart from us.

“Sometimes people want you to leave this earth before they celebrate you and say, “Oh, this dude was good. I don’t really like funerals that much, so I seldomly attend funerals because I believe in the living,’’ he stated on the show monitored by 1Family Radio.

“If you have the means to help someone do it, if someone wants a cup of water, give it to them; don’t wait till the person is no more before you spend huge money to organize a funeral for them.’’

“I think in this part of our world, we tend to celebrate the dead more than the living, and it’s bad,’’ the ‘Cinderella’ crooner said.

“You can ask someone for GH¢1, and the person might not give you, but wait and let the person die; they can go the extra mile to seek a loan just to buy an expensive coffin to bury the person.’’

“I don’t understand this behavior; we really need to celebrate the living,’’ Ofori Amponsah admonished Ghanaians.
