A request made by the former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwasi Nyantakyi, to see investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ face prior court proceedings has been granted by the court.

Anas is set to testify in the open court trial of Kwasi Nyantakyi with his mask on. However, the latter would be given the chance to see the face of the former in chambers before the court proceedings.

The defendant’s attorney put forth this demand. They pleaded with the court in their bid to let Nyantakyi see the journalist’s face in a camera.

The trial against Nyantakyi comes after the publication of the documentary titled ‘Number 12: When Greed and Corruption Become the Norm’ by investigative journalist Anas.

Being the principal witness in the case, the defendant must see Anas’ real face in order to enable him to defend himself.

A snippet of the court ruling monitored by 1Family Radio indicated that Anas has made several appearances in public with his mask on, which implies that he will be able to testify in court while disguising himself. To this effect, the court issued the following:

“Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw will testify against former GFA president Kwasi Nyantakyi in open court, disguised in a mask.’’

Mr. Nyantakyi will, however, have the opportunity to see his face in chambers before such testimony,’’ the court ruled.
