Professor Dominic Fobih, the former Minister of Education and the MP for Assin South has cleared the air on why he decided to marry at the age of 80 years.
He also dispelled the allegations that he is marrying for the ninth time. According to him he has never married before.
Speaking in an interview on Starr FM on May 9, 2023, monitored by 1Family Radio, he clearly stated that his newly wedded wife is 31 years of age contrary to 27 years which has been speculated on social media. He also added that his wife is a doctor.
According to Mr. Fobih, he is a very headstrong person and he only does what he knows will benefit him.
“I am a very strong-willed person and I am always certain about what I decide to do and is best for me. I know why I’m doing this and so people can say all sort of things. I didn’t marry for anybody, I married for myself,’’ he noted.
“I don’t have nine wives, I have one wife, I just got married. I didn’t have a wife before so I’ve just got married,’’ he said.
He asked which reasonable would like to marry nine wives especially during the current economic hardships of the country.
“Who in Ghana has nine wives? If anybody is commenting on the rumor that I have nine wives, the person has been misled. Those who commenting are doing so based on what they have read and hear. And all that they have heard was borne out of ignorance,’’ Mr. Fobih added.
