Veteran highlife star, Oheneba Kissi has stated that the reason he hasn’t made much fortune from singing is because he wasn’t really committed to his music career.
He stated that he is not really known in the music industry because he didn’t release albums like his other colleagues were doing in the past.
Speaking in an interview on Graphic Showbiz monitored by 1Family Radio, the musician noted that he would have made a fortune from his music career if had taken his career seriously from the beginning.
He narrated that he was forced by his then producer, Mark Okraku Mantey to shoot a video for his song titled ‘ABC of Love’ and he began enjoying the limelight because of this.
According to Oheneba Kissi, his songs are well known than his name just like his name is more popular than his image.
The veteran musician furthered that despite the number of songs he has released, he has not received any award from any of the award schemes in the country. He however noted that this has never been a concern for him because he knows Ghanaians love and enjoy his musics.
“I have never been awarded by any award scheme like the VGMA before,’’ Oheneba Kissi disclosed.
Oheneba Kissi continued that he was only honored by the University of Education, Winneba because of his contribution to the highlife music some years ago.
