Ghanaian actress and TV personality, Nana Ama McBrown has cleared the air on why her cooking show on UTV is no longer showing.
She stated that she doesn’t really have a problem if her show titled ‘McBrown’s Kitchen’ is no longer showing because she is currently at a place where she feels welcomed.
Speaking in an interview with Berla Mundi on TV3’s New Day show monitored by 1Family Radio, the actress disclosed that ‘McBrown’s kitchen’ is her own production and she pays for it.
“You know I used to work with UTV before my United Showbiz program. It is my production. I want to move forward Berla,’’ she said.
When asked what happens to McBrown’s Kitchen now that she has a new show on Onua TV, she replied, “McBrown’s Kitchen has the life when it comes to cooking shows in Ghana and it is not dying. I am a place that I’ve been welcomed. Why do I have to cry if my show is not being telecasted.
“I want to do the right thing. I pay for my show at UTV. It’s not for free although sometimes they consider me when I am not feeling too well. They sometimes even do some repetitions for me, that is the bond when working with people. But there is a contract where I pay,’’ She told Berla when quizzed if she intends on bringing the show to Onua TV.
McBrown continued that she doesn’t know what the problem actually is so she doesn’t want to talk about it.
“If the owners don’t want to give me airtime again, it’s fine. I don’t really know what the problem is but i have reached out and we are trying to solve it out.”
She however noted that she doesn’t have any problem with her former employers because they are like a family to her.
“UTV is more like a home to me, we are like a family but when it comes to work, I am a different person. I have a brand to manage but I am for everyone.
