Terry Asare Boamah, a Ghanaian highlife musician popularly known as Dada Hafco has urged the Ghanaian government to invest in the entertainment industry rather than the football.

According to him, the entertainment especially the music industry is putting Ghana on the map than football and all they need is a little help from the government.

Speaking in an interview on Joy FM monitored by 1Family Radio, the musician stated that the country has not been able to win a football trophy for over two decades now despite the money being invested in it.

“Just look at the amount of money and investments being pumped into the Black Stars. I am a passionate lover of football and I would always love to watch football. But since 1982, the country hasn’t won any football trophy so why do we keep on pumping money into it when Ghana has now become the hub for entertainment show every festive season?’’ he quizzed.

He furthered that he doesn’t understand why resources are not being invested in the arts industry because currently it is the entertainment industry which is making the country known globally.

“why are we not putting enough energy and resources into the arts because the entertainment industry is actually what is putting Ghana on the map more than even the football.’’

The musician continued that if the Broadcasting law is passed, it will help promote the music industry. The Broadcasting Law seeks to give assent to the playing of more local songs than foreign songs on radio staions.
