Chris Hughton, the head coach of the Black Stars has explained why it is important for the team to win the match against Angola today.
The Black Stars is expected to face the Palancas Negras of Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, March 23, 2023 in a quest to secure a ticket into the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Speaking at the press conference prior to the match monitored by 1Family Radio, the head coach noted that they have to win their first match against Angola because his aim is to qualify for the AFCON.
Chris Hughton disclosed, “our aim is to qualify for the AFCON and do well in the AFCON and the only way we can do that is by winning football matches.’’
“It’s very important that we win our first game but it’s not only about the head coach. It’s about us playing a game against a very good opposition in Angola,’’ he noted.
