The Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program (NEIP), Mr. Kofi Ofosu Nkansah has asserted that Alpha Hour is just stressing some Ghanaian women.
Alpha Hour is an online cum midnight prayer that is scheduled from 12midnight to 1am. Pastor Elvis Agyemang is the convener of this midnight prayer session.
According to Mr. Kofi Nkansah, this prayer session is adding to the stress of Ghanaian women especially the working-class women. This is because these women have to stay awake till 12 midnight to pray to 1 am or beyond and they still have to wake up early to go to work which can be very stressful.
In a post he shared on his Facebook page sighted by 1Family Radio, Mr. Nkansah noted, ‘’Alpha Hour and other midnight prayer sessions are stressful.
“Our ladies mostly close from work tired, they will keep wake and pray from 12 to 1am or beyond,’’ he stated.
He furthered, “they wake up at dawn to do house chores and prepare their kids for school. Just adding more stress to their lives. Unnecessary stress I think.’’
Kofi Nkansah quizzed why such prayer sessions are only done after 12 midnight.
