The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has disclosed that his goal is to raise the standard of Education in the country to a level where his successors would find it difficult to lower.

Speaking to the media in Kumasi monitored by 1Family Radio, the minister noted that he wants to sow seeds of lasting transformation in the education sector of Ghana where his successors would be forced to maintain.

“I want to raise the quality of education in Ghana to a level where my successors who wants to change the status quo will have parents to contend with,’’ he stated.

According to him, equipping students with knowledge about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) will accelerate Ghana’s development in this 21st century and this is why he has introduced the STEM education in Ghana.

He furthered that the government and its stakeholders are planning on equipping schools from kindergarten to the senior high school level with infrastructures for the STEM and TVET education.

The minister also disclosed that the Accra STEM Academy is under construction and it is expected to be completed in December 2023.

He added that this project would start admit students from January 2024 to equip them with a different experience of education.
