Nii Odartey Lamptey, a Ghanaian former professional footballer and the current manager of Elmina Sharks has called out to the new coach of the Black Stars team to rectify the wrongs and misconception in the team.
Chris Hughton, the former manager of Nottingham was appointed as the new coach of the Black Stars by the Ghana Football association some few days ago.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM monitored by 1Family Radio, Nii Odartey stated that Chris has been given a great opportunity to rectify the wrong in the Black Stars. He furthered that the new coach has been with the black stars for a while now and he is aware of the wrong and misconception in the senior national team.
According to the former player, this is the right time for Chris to change and correct certain things in the team. He added that being the technical advisor of the team during the world cup in Qatar, he might have seen and heard a lot of things. Now that he has been appointed as head coach of the team he is expected to change and rectify the wrong things in the team.
Nii Odartey indicated that he does not agree with allegations that the GFA appointed Chris because they wanted to manipulate him. “Considering his experience and origin, it won’t be easy to manipulate Chris Hughton,” he stressed.
