Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has asserted that he will inherit President Akuffo-Addo as the flagbearer of the party. He was the Minister for Regional Cooperation under the Kuffour government

Speaking in an interview on GHOne TV monitored by 1family Radio, he stated that the has a system of hierarchy where members of the party are in line to occupy available positions in the party and he is the right person to succeed the president.

According to him, it takes more than the person who can secure more votes from the party executives to become the flagbearer of the party. He hinted that the party considers the age and the number of years the candidate has served the party before electing him as the flagbearer of the party.

Mr. Apraku noted that he came from Pro. Adu Boahen together with Pressident Akuffo-Addo. He indicated that he has always supported the president and the two of them were good friends when they were ministers and parliamentarians.

“It was very obvious he will go before me and I will assume his position when he done with his tenure of office”, he uttered. He emphasized that it is his turn to inherit the president as the flagbearer of the party.
