The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) under the leadership of Apostle Eric Nyamekye has urged the president to reduce the size of his government and also cut down on expenditure to save the economy.

According to the GPCC, cutting down on expenditure will allow Ghanaians to trust in the government’s commitment to restoring economic stability in the country. It will also prove to Ghanaians that the president meant what he said about burden sharing.

Following a press release signed by Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the government and was advised to set up a national dialogue forum for regular discussions of important issues of national interest. The president was admonished to reduce the government machinery and to rationalize the expenditure to assure Ghanaians of his commitment to resolve the current economic mess.

The council also urged the president not to allow the DDEP damage the financial sector. They emphasized that no matter what happens, the DDEP shouldn’t destroy the financial sector because it is very important to economy development.

It was noted in the statement that, the council commends the government for establishing the financial stability fund to provide support to the financial sector. The council wishes to see that the facility is financed to ensure the banking sector will not be destroyed through the DDEP.
