Three people have lost their lives in a fire outbreak in the Ahanti region for the second time within the space of one month.

According to the report by some Community Security Volunteers, the three people that perished in the fire were Abigail Manu, thirty-seven years with her two daughters namely Nora Yeboah, nine years of age and Philippa Yeboah who is six years old. It was reported that, Abigail’s burnt body was seen protecting her children from the fire.

Stephen, one of the volunteers reported that they rushed to the scene when they heard the noises from the house but they had difficulties entering into the house. They were able to enter the house through the back door but couldn’t enter into the apartment because of the intensity of the fire.

The four-bedroom apartment was totally burnt when they were able to extinguish the fire with the help of a neighbor’s pumping machine.

According to Mr. Henry Giwa, the Ashanti Regional Fire Officer, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. He also advised that every Ghanaian household should get a fire detector alarms.

He also urged that other alternatives exits should be created in every house in case of emergency.
