A former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Ohene Ntow has spoken against the way the party is addressing its issues surrounding the election of its flagbearerhip race for 2024 presidential elections.
Speaking in an interview on Adom TV monitored by 1Family Radio, the former General Secretary purported that persons who have publicly declared their support for Alan Kyeremateng as the flagbearer for the NPP are being punished as some are losing their jobs.
He stated that, some government officials have declared their support for the Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and have not faced any challenge or whatsoever in the party. He further stated that the party deliberately overlook issues that are caused by one side of the party but actions are taken against the other party.
Nana Ohene Ntow said that no action has been taken against some Members of Parliament and officials of the party who have declared their support for the Vice President.Also, Chairman Samba announced Bawumia as a winner in Tamale and Antwi Boasiako did same in Kumasi
He(Nana Ohene Now) further stated that Antwi Boasiako is the person in charge of the primaries election in the Ashanti Region and he has already stated that Bawumia must win which simply means that he will do everything it takes to make Bawumia win the election.
The former General Secretary lamented that some polling stations executives who have declared their support for Alan Kyerematen have lost their jobs. Some government workers are just because they declared their support for Alan Kyerematen. He said one was recently fired in Tamale.
Nana Ohene Ntow added that if nothing is done about the issues pertaining to the presidential primaries, it will divide the party before the 2024 presidential elections.
