Ghanaian musician and rapper, Okyeame Kwame alias the rap doctor has rubbished the statement by a member of the communication team of the NDC, Haruna Amaliba about his dressing.
The rap doctor was captured wearing a pair of his boxer shorts brand on his 47th birthday as a way of unveiling and marketing his brand. Some netizens who chanced on these pictures criticized him for wearing such provocative boxers on social media.
Mr. Haruna Amaliba in an interview on Neat FM monitored by 1Family Radio, stated that if Akuapem Poloo was arrested for indecent exposure, then the police should also arrest okyeame Kwame for wearing such provocative boxers on social media.
Reacting to this on the same platform, the musician asked Haruna how he wants him to promote his brand if he doesn’t wear it himself.
“If Calvin Klein or GUCCI had offered me $1 million to post a picture on my social media pages, what would he have said?’’ he quizzed.
He asked the politician the type of dresses the models on boxer shorts label mostly wear. “Whenever you buy a new set of boxers, what type of dress does the model on the label wears? Tell me the type of dress I should wear to advertise my boxer. Do you expect me to cover the boxer shorts with kente to unveil it? he asked.
Okyeame Kwame noted that he didn’t wear the boxers to expose his stomach or legs but just to advertise his brand.
“The best way to advertise your boxer shorts is to wear them for the public to see it. I didn’t post my pictures for people to see my tummy or legs. I was just promoting my boxers. And as far as selling is concerned, I made massive sales that day,’’ he said.
The veteran musician noted that he decided to outdoor his brand because he had had problems with some boxers because of how sensitive his skin was.
“I planned on doing this for people who have sensitive skin like mine. Although there were ready in January, I decided to unveil it on my birthday because I felt it was the best time I could get more buyers,’’ he explained.
