Mohammed Ismail Sherrif, Ghanaian singer and rapper professionally known as Black Sherif has disclosed that he still buys waakye at his favorite street food joint despite his fame and success.
According to him, he always tries to separate his professional life from his personal life and this has helped him remain humble.
“I always keep in mind that Mohammed Ismail Sherrif is different from Black Sherif,’’ he stated in an interview on TV3’s Road to the VGMA monitored by 1Family Radio.
“I keep this at the back of my head, you guys probably see me as Black Sherif but I see myself as both,’’ he noted. According to him, this attitude helps him to himself wherever he goes.
He furthered that he still buys waakye at his favorite street food joint and sometimes he gets it for free.
“My fans still see me at my favorite waakye spot. Sometimes, even if I take money along, Amalia would still give me the waakye for free,’’ he disclosed.
The ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ hitmaker stated that keeping his professional life different from his personal life has prevented him from being proud and because of this he is not afraid of going back to where he began from.
“I can go back to zero and I am not scared going back to zero,’’ he said.
