Mr. Dominic Owusu, the Director of the Currency Department at the Bank of Ghana has cautioned against the use of the cedi notes in making of money bouquets and hampers.
According to him, using the cedi notes as money bouquets and making of hampers is illegal and he therefore, advises the entire public to desist from such acts.
Addressing the media on Thursday, March 30, 2023, which was monitored by 1Family Radio, Mr. Dominic disclosed that the use of the cedi notes for such acts violate the policy of the central bank.
He noted, “nowadays, you see people using the currency for bouquets and sometimes during presentations, they use the cedi notes to do designs in baskets and hampers. Such acts are against the Bank of Ghana policy.’’
Mr. Owusu continued, ‘’if you wish to give a present, go and buy gifts. Don’t use the cedi notes as bouquets. Desist from such acts, it violates the policy of the bank therefore you must stop it.’’
