The lawmaker for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and some other NDC Members of Parliament has expressed their disappointment over the outcomes of the votes in parliament yesterday.
Parliament was expected to vote on the approval of the six ministerial appointees of the president on March 24, 2023. Prior to the voting, the minority in parliament indicated that they will vote against the approval of these ministers.
According to them, the size of the Akuffo-Addo government is already congested and there is no need to appoint new ministers. For this reason, they all decided to reject the approval of the ministers to save the country from more economic hardships.
However, after the votes were casted yesterday in parliament, all the ministers-designate were approved based on majority votes. After Speaker Alban Bagbin declared the results of the voting, it was disclosed that some NDC MPs actually voted for the ministers contrary to their earlier resolution.
Reacting to this outcome of the vote, some NDC MPs have stated that this is betrayal on the part of the NDC MPs to vote for these ministerial appointees.
In a post Okudzeto Ablakwa shared on his Facebook page sighted by 1Family Radio stated, “there is no knife that cuts so sharply and with such poisoned blade as treachery.
“Integrity is choosing your thoughts and actions based on values rather than personal gain,” the MP for Madina, Francis-Xavier Sosu stated.
Alhassan Sayobu Suhuyini, the MP for Tamale North also posted, “I’ve seen beauty in People called ugly and seen the devil in the most angelic face. But I’m in a society that avoid difficult conversations.
