Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of parliament has suspended today’s sitting in parliament over confusion between the two caucus in the house.

Parliament was expected to vote today on the new ministerial appointees of the president however, the speaker of parliament has adjourned the voting after some heated exchanges between the majority and minority leadership of in parliament.

News reaching us (1Family Radio) is that the majority wanted the voting to be postponed on the grounds that they may not have the required number of representatives to approve the new nominees but the minority insisted that they should proceed with the voting.

The confusion began when the majority called for change in the voting positions. Annor Dompreh, the majority chief whip requested that they exchange voting positions with the minority just when voting was about to begin.

Although he didn’t explain why he pleaded for the change, he stated that he wants the majority to vote on the left side of Alban which is where the minority is positioned.

The minority chief whip, Ato Forson disagreed with the statement by the majority adding that the majority is not willing to vote.

This compelled Speaker Alban to suspend the sitting and summoned the two leaders to his office.
