Prosper Harrison Addo, a Ghanaian lawyer and the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association has admonished Ghanaians to refrain from their habit of using foul language to put forth their dissatisfactory about the issues surrounding the Ghana Football Association.
He lamented that abusing the GFA verbally is not the right way for Ghanaians to convey their ideas on the matters of football in the country.
Samuel Nartey George, the Member of Parliament for the Ningo Prampram Constituency had stated the GFA has considered giving the vacant coaching position to Chris Hughton, the former boss of Brighton and also the technical director of the Black Stars during the Qatar World Cup.
George Nartey stated that GFA wants to give this position to Chris Hughton because he could be manipulated by them.
Reacting to these allegations, Prosper Harrison Addo uttered that, the above allegation by the lawmaker is very offensive not only to the GFA but also to the coaches. He furthered that the coaches do not deserve such insult because they are also fathers and should be treated as such. “if you can’t insult your father, then don’t insult us,” he noted.
He mentioned that in other words, George Nartey is saying that the coaches don’t have a mind of their own which is why they can be manipulated, and this is very offensive. He furthered that Ghanaians are also criticizing them because they have no idea of the coaches they are speaking against. Prosper cited names like Otto Addo, CK, Milo and Chris Hughton and asked if these people can be manipulated.
“It is not right when such statements are uttered” he stated. He mentioned that Ghanaians think they have done no wrong when they abuse the GFA verbally which is not right. Mr. Harrison said that he is the General Secretary of the GFA and therefore when people say that the GFA is corrupt, it means that he is also corrupt because he works there.
He warned that Ghanaians shouldn’t generalized everything like that because he has never taken anything from any Ghanaian. He urged that people should find the right means to convey their views and they will listen.
