Ernest Owusu Bempah, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) deputy director of communications, has said that the NDC, the country’s largest opposition party, lacks solutions to the country’s fiscal issues.
He claims that the NDC party is disparaging the current administration in an effort to make the NPP administration unpopular.
The lawmaker claimed in a video that was put on his Facebook wall and seen by 1Family that the NDC does not have Ghanaians’ best interests at heart.
“Everything suggests that they are trying to make this government very unpopular. They are not looking out for Ghanaians’ interests, according to a very cunning method,” he claimed.
‘’Have you heard the NDC discuss potential alternatives to the present economic situation this country is experiencing? No. When the NPP was in opposition, we declared that we would end dumsor because we had plans for policies like free SHS at the time.’’
“NDC doesn’t offer such options. All they think about is sitting down and lying to make the government look bad, hiding behind people to picket because of a bond issue, or hiding behind the young youth organizer to stir up trouble and say harmful things that will undermine Ghana’s excellent democracy,” he said.
“The new leadership of the NDC’s agenda is simply to set a hatchet-orchestrated plan to make the government unpopular; when Ghanaians become dissatisfied with bad news about this government, they mistakenly believe the NDC is an alternative.”
He claimed that the NDC is using this strategy in an effort to make that impression stick in the minds of Ghanaians as well as, more importantly, in an effort to sway the findings of independent surveys, particularly those with foreign funding, in order to defend their nonexistent strategy for combating corruption.
