An American tourist has expressed her disappointment at the reprehensible state of a beach resort in Accra.
The traveler drew an abrupt distinction between the city’s alleged image as an exorbitant location to live and the appalling conditions she observed.
In a Twitter video shared by Sikaofficial, which was sighted by 1Family Radio, the lady was spotted strolling along a dirty Accra beach’s shoreline that was littered with plastic debris and had murky water.
She questioned how a city known to be one of the most expensive on the continent could have such a filthy beach.
“How is this city one of the most expensive cities to live in on this continent, and the beach looks like this?’’ she quizzed.
“It’s disgusting. I have never in my life seen a beach with so much trash on it. Look at the trash in the water; look how brown the water is. It’s a disgrace.’’
“We have a plastic problem, we have a waste management problem, and we have a responsibility… I don’t get it,’’ she said.
