Ghanaian and Kumawood actor Nana Agyeman, professionally known as Oboy Siki, has alleged that his colleague Agya Koo’s mansion was financed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He disclosed that Agya Koo built his opulent mansion using funds he got from endorsing the NPP in 2016 and 2020.
Speaking in an interview with Poleeno Multimedia, monitored by 1Family Radio, Oboy Siki noted that the funds Agya Koo received from his endorsement deal with the NPP enabled him to complete his mansion after he was sidelined in the movie industry in 2016.
“Since Agya Koo’s career in the movie industry was on the decline due to his marginalization, he decided to endorse the NPP in 2016. It was through this endorsement that he was able to raise the funds necessary to construct his home. I thus want Ghanaians to be aware that if we in the movie industry wanted to construct a mansion, it would be quite expensive,’’ he said.
“The majority of Accra’s mansions built by people in the movie industry were not financed by the industry. If someone claims otherwise, they are telling a blatant lie. With my information and the things I know, the NPP money assisted Agya Koo in financing his building.’’
He proceeded by saying that Agya Koo had a second endorsement deal with the NPP for the Central Region in 2020, which brought in a sizable sum of money for him to construct his mansion.
Oboy Siki also revealed that although the mansion was initially financed by Agya Koo, the earnings from the endorsement deal significantly aided in the construction of the building.
“In 2020, he went to do another endorsement for the NPP in Cape Coast and took a lot of money, per my knowledge,’’ he noted.
“The truth is that for that building, he started with his own money, but the finishing was done with political money, I am telling you the truth.’’
“The last time I even saw him, I told him to his face that I would tell the public about it, so in case he hears, he shouldn’t be surprised. Lastly, he has also gone to endorse Kennedy Agyapong, and he is going to take another loan,’’ Oboy Siki said.
