Multi-faceted entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo has defended the reigning Artist of the Year, Black Sherif, on his decision to portray the Baphomet symbol during his recent concert in New York.
Fans of Black Sherif and some Ghanaians were startled when the Baphomet sign was displayed behind the artist during his performance at the Palladium Theatre.
Arnold has stated that this could be a marketing strategy by Black Sherif, contrary to the beliefs of some Ghanaians. According to him, the satanic sign that was displayed doesn’t indicate he is affiliated with the satanic kingdom.
He made this controversial statement on UTV’s United Showbiz, monitored by 1Family Radio, on Saturday.
“In light of the fact that the Baphomet symbol is connected to the satanic realm, if I see such a sign on your body or car, I have every right to interpret it as I like,’’ he said.
The entertainment pundit, however, argued that an artist can decide to use this symbol mainly for showbiz purposes.
“We should understand that although this sign is connected to the satanic kingdom, this is showbiz, and one of the significant elements in this game is marketing.’’
He continued that other artists have used this symbol as a means to market their brands and music. He explained that most artists intentionally do this to generate conversation, which in turn will promote their music.
Arnold cited artists like Sarkodie, Beyonce, and Kanye West who have been linked to the satanic church to buttress his point that Black Sherif was just playing with our minds.
“Artists like Beyonce, Rihanna, and Sarkodie have all been tagged as being part of the Illuminati.” This is just a trick, and these musicians thrive on generating conversation to market their work.’’
“These artistes are smart to play with these speculations,’’ Arnold explained.
