Flights cancelled as plane crash lands in Abuja Airport

The runway of Nigeria’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport has been disabled after a plane suffered multiple tire burst.

On Sunday, May 7, 2023, a Max Aircraft 737-400 flight suffered multiple tire busrt on landing at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (ABV), which is located in Abuja, Nigeria.

According to a trusted source of 1Family Radio, the plane experienced two tire bursts on landing in Abuja. Fortunately, the 143 passengers, an infant and six crew members on board were all evacuated with no injuries.

The incident which occurred around 3pm has caused multiple flights to be cancelled. Authorities have assured the public that they clearing the runway for reopening after moving the aircraft from the runway.
