Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the leader of the majority leadership in parliament has asserted that he is highly disappointed in the minority caucus in parliament.

According to him, the voting on the approval of the new ministerial appointees delayed because the minority caucus demanded for time to discuss the issue with their party members.

Speaking in an interview on Neat FM monitored by 1Family Radio, Mensah-Bonsu noted that minority leadership initially wanted the house to vote on the approval of the nominees, then they had a change of mind that the approval should rather be done by consensus.

“Initially, the minority stated that the approval should be by voting, then they said it should be done by consensus. Yesterday, we waited for hours in parliament only for them to tell us that were standing by the stance of the NDC therefore we have to vote on the new nominees,’’ he noted.

He stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is against the approval of the new ministerial nominees.

The minority promised us that they would consult their party to see if the approval could be done by consensus but they have decided to stick with the position of the NDC.

“I am highly disappointed because they created the impression that they were going to change their minds,’’ he lamented.

He added, “we would have voted earlier on if they had told us they were going to stick with the stance of their party.’’
