Dr. Nyaho -Tamakloe, a Ghanaian football administrator and also a founding member of the New Patriotic Party has asserted that the Defence minister must be fired over the military swoop in Ashaiman on Tuesday, March 7,2023.
Speaking in an interview with Johnnie Hughes on 3FM Sunrise Morning program monitored by 1Family Radio, Mr. Tamakloe disclosed that he was expecting the president to speak about the military swoop in the State of the Nation Address (SONA) but he didn’t.
He noted “I was surprised the president didn’t speak about the Ashaiman military brutality which is a crucial national issue and he was expected to address it.’’
Mr. Nyaho urged military personnels especially the young ones to be careful of politicians and focus on their duties. “Young soldiers, the military is your profession so just soldier and be wary of politicians,’’ he advised.
According to him, the defence minister must be expelled for failing to counsel the president on how to address the military swoop in Ashaiman while adding that it was also wrong to allow the deputy minister of defence to speak on this incident when the minister was in the country.
He furthered that the soldiers shouldn’t be castigated because they were following orders given by their superiors and these superiors also acted by the instruction of a higher authority who is the Minister of Defence.
For this reason, he is convinced that the defence minister must be expelled but he doubts if that will happen because the president has refused to fire the finance and health minister.
