22 person dies in an accident at Kintampo

The dead victims includes a child and four women

Twenty-two passengers have been confirmed dead in a brutal accident which occurred on the Kintampo Highway.

The accident occurred between kintampoo and Babatokuma in the Bono East region in the late hours of Sunday, March 5, 2023.

According to a trusted source, twenty-one victims perished at the spot and the other victims died after they have been rushed to the Kintampo Government Hospital. Four of the dead passengers are women, one child and seventeen men.

An eyewitness reported that the accident involved a Yendi-Kumasi bound bus with the registration number AS 4635-22 and a truck with the registration GW 1127-P.

It has been reported that the truck driver attempted to veer a parked truck and landed in the lane of the bus which led to the crashing of the vehicles.

The bodies have been reportedly deposited at the morgue of the Kintampo Government Hospital and the injured ones are receiving medical care at the hospital.
