Benard Oduro Takyi, A Ghanaian economist and the CEO of Omanbapa Ghana has alleged that the only person who can help Ghana secure the $3 billion from the IMF is Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
According to him, anybody that leads the delegation to the International Monetary Fund apart from Otumfuo will not be able to secure the deal.
Speaking in an interview on Onua FM, the economist indicated that the China government will not approve of the bailout because of the money we owe them. Even if they will help the country, they will demand control of key assets in Ghana.
Oduro believes that the only person who can lead the country to the IMF is Otumfuo because his throne goes beyond Ghana and he is one of the most esteemed monarchs. He added that he can speak to the King of England to intercede for Ghana.
He furthered that if anyone else leads the delegations, Ghana will surely not get the bailout. According to Mr. Oduro, the finance minister shouldn’t be allowed to lead the delegation to the IMF because has disrespected them on several occasions and some other NPP MPs.
Mr. Takyi stated that Ken Ofori-Atta went to parliament and assured them that Ghana will never go to the IMF for bailout so there’s no way they will grant us the bailout if he leads the delegation.
