The youth of Nalerigu have hindered the soldiers deployed to the town to arrest the illegally enstooled chief of Bawku and the overlord of Mamprugu.
The actions by the soldiers embark on this exercise after the High Court in Bolgatanga issued an arrest warrant of the Bawku Naba and the Mamprugu overlord because of their participation in the enskinment of a new chief on February 15,2023.
However, the soldiers encountered a severe opposition by the youths of the Nalerigu. This took place on Sunday, February 19,2023.
Monitoring a report by JoyNews, it was indicated that the youth surrounded the palaces of these two traditional leaders hindering the military from discharging their duties.
The youth were reported to have demolished a police station in the vicinity and also an office of the NPP. The soldiers had no choice but to retreat.
