South African Rapper AKA has been confirmed dead

Keirnan Jarryd Forbes, a South African rapper popularly known as AKA has been confirmed dead after a drive-by shooting incident on Florida road on Friday, February 10,2023.

This shooting incident was confirmed by the Independent Online (IOL) after receiving information from a well-place police sources before it was confirmed by the Durban police.

According to the reports, a man who is assumed to be the bodyguard of AKA has been severely wounded and another man alleged to be his close friend has also been confirmed dead. It was reported that the rapper was shot multiple times by anonymous gunmen outside a restaurant in Durban.

From the report of a patron at the restaurant, it was noted that AKA was standing outside the Wish restaurant when he was gunned down in the drive-by shooting incident.

His parents have also confirmed his death in post they shared on Twitter. In the statement his parents indicated “It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved son, and confirmed his untimely and tragic passing on the evening of February 10,2023. We are waiting for further details from the Durban Police.’’ 

It was hinted that AKA was supposed to perform at YUGO, a night club in Durban as part of his birthday celebrations.
