Ghanaian journalist and broadcaster, Ohenyere Gifty Anti has finally opened up on the rumors that her marriage has fallen on the rocks.
According to her, it is very difficult to speak your own truth these days because people will attack and spread rumors about you before you get to say the actual truth.
Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime monitored by 1Family Radio, the author of the book ‘When Strong Women Cry’ stated that this is not the first time such attack has been made on her marriage and she is aware that she is the target.
“Should I call my husband for you? We have decided to speak about this at the right time. This is not the first time something like this has happened and evidently, I am the target.’’
“The people spreading these rumors about me do not know me. They don’t know anything about me. And what do you expect me to do? Should I go round and explain things to everyone? I am very focused therefore these things cannot distract me. But I am really hurt and disappointed,’’ Gifty noted.
The feminist continued that her journey as a feminist sometimes is so difficult because you have to save the world while dealing with your own pains and challenges.
“Sometimes, this journey gets so difficult because if care is not taken, you will find yourself in shambles while you are trying to save the world.’’
She narrated the story of a woman in her book who suffered from depression because she tried saving the world amidst her pains.
“In my book, there is a particular story of a woman who was diagnosed with depression because she was out there saving the world while she was in pain,’’ Anti added.
